GENERAL INFORMATION
Cisapride is a new drug that stimulates forward movement in the oesophagus and intestines. It is useful in a number of gastrointestinal disorders, including the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux, such as dyspepsia, heartburn, and
regurgitation. Cisapride may be useful in cases when emptying of the stomach is delayed, which may occur in some diabetics and in patients suffering from systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) and autonomic neuropathy. The drug is sometimes used for the short-term treatment of dyspepsia (indigestion) that does not respond to other remedies. Read more
